EECOL Electric Edmonton

Located in the Hawin Park Estate Industrial area, North West Edmonton, EECOL Electric is a large retail warehouse serving the trade and the public. Two office areas were consolidated into a single centre with exterior works including a refresh of the façade and signage.

Collaborative visioning sessions with staff, sales representatives, and management were facilitated by Next and PCL Construction to outline goals that became the foundation for the project. These were focused on enhancing the retail experience, simplifying the purchasing process, bringing office and warehouse staff together in a central hub, and providing access to daylight to all desk locations.

The newly developed retail area is supported by an open meeting space, refreshment bar/island and private meeting room. The front-of-house and express counters define the space, making for easy wayfinding. The main floor office sales area, situated behind the front-of-house counter, gives office staff the flexibility to offer extra support in busy times.

Large meeting rooms were created on the second level, overlooking the warehouse below. A generous kitchen and meeting space was also developed to bring all staff together. Bar, lounge, island and table seating are offered. Upgrades to shipping and receiving areas, focused on improving work flow, were also undertaken.
