Heather Thompson

Interior Designer, BID, RID IDA, NCIDQ, LEED AP, WELL AP

With over 25 years of experience in interior design, Heather brings a wealth of knowledge and design intelligence to her work. Having worked for firms in Ireland, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton, Heather has a broad understanding of interior design principles within Canada and internationally. Heather was also a partner at Shelterbelt Architecture before joining Next.

Heather is an experienced facilitator and enjoys the Visioning Sessions with clients where the aspirational project goals and standards are set. Having worked on commercial and institutional projects she has a keen understanding of material and finish costs and of appropriate selections to meet LEED, WELL, and other sustainable goals.

Heather is also adept at assisting clients with furniture and furnishing selections to complement and enhance the interior design and architecture of her buildings. This creates a holistic development that considers form, colour, material and texture.
